President's Message

President’s Message: Welcome

I am very exited to be writing my first presidents message in almost four years. As some of you may already know Jonh Morrison has stepped down as president of the organization. He did a great job as president but felt it was the right time to step aside and let the future of the organization start rolling forward. I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for his time and dedication. John has been a MAJOR contributor to the PCECA long before I even started attending meetings.

The last meeting was held on Tuesday the 9th at Four Brothers Restaurant in Mahopac. It started at 7:00 PM. (The food was very good by the way). We started a discussion about whether or not to stay in that location or move back to Piato Grill in Yorktown. That discussion will be continued for a very small portion of the next meeting. We will have a vendor from Square D at the next meeting. We have asked her to bring us some “new cool products” to look at and get our creative juices flowing. She will have a new plug in neutral QO panel, time saving diagnostics for arc fault breakers, and a service upgrade or “cut in panel”. I am not sure what those items are but I can’t wait to find out! We will have an open discussion about code so please bring your book and some questions. We are looking for things that come up on a daily basis to talk about. There is nothing wrong with small code items. They say that “the devil is in the details”, and those types of small code details or questions that we deal with every day can lead to very informative conversations. Starting in September we will be scheduling an inspector for code at every meeting, however I think a loose code conversation may be a better option for the last two meetings of this year. We are also doing our best to give back to, and be active in our Putnam County community. We will have a table set up at this summers 4H Fair in Putnam County as well as a second Habitat for Humanity house. As some of you may already know the PCECA started and completed a home renovation for Habitat for Humanity last year. The house was a great success and a feel good story for Putnam County. We are expecting the same result with the second house.

Come next September we are hoping to have better attendance for a good informative structured meeting. As always we need the support of the members and guests if we want this to succeed. We are open to ideas and suggestions so please feel free to reach out to me or the board at any time. As you are out and about please spread the word, to the informed and the uninformed about the PCECA. The more in attendance the more each of us can get from the meetings.

The next meeting will be held at Four Brothers Restaurant in Mahopac at 7 sharp on Tuesday May 14th.

We are looking forward to seeing some old and new faces at the meeting.

Please call or reply with any questions.

Thank you,
Joe Spirelli
