The most common cause of underground cable damage happens when a third party unknowingly digs, blasts or drills near an underground cable. If you plan to dig or do any type of excavation or construction work, State law requires you to call “Dig Safely New York” two full working days prior to starting your work, not counting the day of your call, weekends or holidays.
