President's Message

President’s Message: February 2014

Hello All,

This months meeting was great! Not only was the meeting info good the food was exceptional! There was a light turnout but the meeting was extreme informative. The next meeting will be held at Four Brothers Restaurant in Mahopac on Tuesday the 11th at 7:00 for attendees and 5:30 for board members. Frank Ferrina from SWIS will be doing his last of three 45 minute code presentations so please bring your book! We will also have Pat Spirelli Jr. speaking about business, inside operations, and tech.

At the last meeting Pat Jr. spoke all about storage for your files. He went into detail about digital storage in the office with backup systems as well as off site and cloud backup. The people at the meetings have been giving us great feed back on Pat Jr.’s presentations. They are relevant, cutting edge and Pat makes his info easy to understand. Frank’s code was mostly dedicated to grounding altho he did take a lot of questions from the group and each topic  sparked good code discussion. As some of you may know we try and concentrate on code as much as possible and the code discussions are where we get our best information.

We will be have Matt Worner attorney at law at our april meeting. We will need some topics of discussion for Matt so the people in attendance get the most from the time. We will be having a “Blue Book” Con Ed seminar style meeting in May. The entire meeting will be dedicated to a Con Ed representative and “Blue Book” info. Con Ed has asked that we give them some topics and or questions in advance so we will devote some time to developing a list at the next few meetings. You can also email me at joe@spirellielectric.com the topics you would like to have covered. We will be trying to put together a committee for a long term task of getting control of final certificates to the electrical contractors as well as trying to get some relief from building departments that require the license holder to file in person.. We will be calling it “The Release Committee”. So far we have Ed Odell, Joe Covis, and Joe Covis Jr. volunteered for the committee. Lastly we spoke about Westchester AND Putnam county requiring continuing education credits to renew your license.

If you haven’t been to a meeting recently we would love to see you again!  The more in attendance the more each of us can get from the meetings.  We are looking forward to seeing some old and new faces at the meeting.

Please call or reply with any questions.

Thank you,

Joe Spirelli
